Hello from Colorado

We are having a blast in Colorado! We've been hiking every morning, swimming on the deck, eating good food, etc. We've done some pretty serious hikes with the boys on our backs. Below are a bunch of photos detaling our vacation so far.

This is the view from my Aunt and Uncle's yard. They live at 8400 feet. We're enjoying waking up in the mountains everyday.
















Here we are hiking to a waterfall and lake. For the record, I offered to take Finn (the heavier one), but my mom is nervous carrying Leif on her back over rough terrain.

Fun comparisons

One benefit of having a huge baby is that he can share clothes with your toddler. Take tonight, for instance. Leif was wearing a blue and gray striped shirt today, but I took it off and noticed the tag said 24 months, so I tried it on Finn. Sure enough, it fit him too. Below are two photos documenting the event, taken minutes apart. The photo of Finn is not good, but it is so hard to get him to look at the camera. The bumbo serves as scale (at least for those of you who know how big one is)- check our long, lean toddler machine!





































Back by popular demand is the "look at Leif and Finn at the same age doing the same thing" post. In the photos below, Leif is 8 months and Finn is 9 months, but you get the idea.





























This serves as further evidence that they do not "look exactly alike."

Summer fun

Last weekend the boys and I went to Grand Rapids for my 10 year high school class reunion and Mickey was in the cities playing and singing in a wedding. Finn and Leif had a blast swimming and playing all weekend.

Photographic proof

So, some people tell us that the boys look a lot alike. We have to respectfully disagree. As proof, below are two photos - one of Leif and one of Finn - at the same age, doing the same thing. While there are similarities, we definitely don't think they look exactly alike.

Below are several photos from the last week.

Here is Finn being a scientist at Nature Nook. Hmmmm.....very interesting, he says.















Finn and Leif went swimming in Okoboji this weekend. They both LOVED it. We did not get a picture of Leif in the water because Finn wouldn't stand still long enough for one of us to get the camera. As seen in the photo below, Finn would just keep walking deeper and deeper (eventually one of us would pick him up and he would "swim").











































On the way to Iowa we made a pit stop at the Science Museum in St. Paul. If asked, Finn will gladly share tales of the dinosaur bones.













And, here is a cute one of Leif.

Sorry Leif, this one's all Finn (well, almost)

Finn's been a pretty active little dude lately. Below is the evidence.

Today was Grandma's Marathon in Duluth. In between the wheelchair racers and runners, we walked to the beach to throw rocks, which is Finn's new favorite activity. Here are some action shots (note the left-handed throw in the top photo):





































After the marathon we walked to our friends' house - Sheryl, Jim, Jasper, and Bear - for some awesome egg bake and good company. Finn picked flowers for Bear, while we sat on the deck in the nice summer sun. Before we got to their house, we had to stop and "wade" in the river. Finn got wet up to his waist.





































The other day Finn was putting his duck to sleep in the sling, the same way we put Leif to sleep. It was very cute.

Happy Birthday Gracie!

The second "Baby" Pearson turns 5 today! Our dog, Gracie was Keely and my second pet as a couple, after Olive, the world's most anti-social cat.
