Photo update

Below are several photos from the last week.

Here is Finn being a scientist at Nature Nook. Hmmmm.....very interesting, he says.















Finn and Leif went swimming in Okoboji this weekend. They both LOVED it. We did not get a picture of Leif in the water because Finn wouldn't stand still long enough for one of us to get the camera. As seen in the photo below, Finn would just keep walking deeper and deeper (eventually one of us would pick him up and he would "swim").











































On the way to Iowa we made a pit stop at the Science Museum in St. Paul. If asked, Finn will gladly share tales of the dinosaur bones.













And, here is a cute one of Leif.

Finn's been a pretty active little dude lately. Below is the evidence.

Today was Grandma's Marathon in Duluth. In between the wheelchair racers and runners, we walked to the beach to throw rocks, which is Finn's new favorite activity. Here are some action shots (note the left-handed throw in the top photo):





































After the marathon we walked to our friends' house - Sheryl, Jim, Jasper, and Bear - for some awesome egg bake and good company. Finn picked flowers for Bear, while we sat on the deck in the nice summer sun. Before we got to their house, we had to stop and "wade" in the river. Finn got wet up to his waist.





































The other day Finn was putting his duck to sleep in the sling, the same way we put Leif to sleep. It was very cute.

So we thought we'd share our blog with Blik, the makers of the robot decals we put on the boys' walls.

Happy Birthday Gracie!

The second "Baby" Pearson turns 5 today! Our dog, Gracie was Keely and my second pet as a couple, after Olive, the world's most anti-social cat.

Here's a shot of G-unit on her 5th. Doesn't look a day over three, does she?


And so you don't feel cheated, loyal blog reader, here's a shot of the boys playing nicely.

Finn & Leif's room: It's done!

Today we finally finished decorating the boys' room. We got their new beds set up and then applied all the Blik robot stickers to their walls. The beds were handcrafted by a furniture maker in Grand Rapids and they're made of unfinished cedar, which makes the room smell awesome. Here are a couple of photos:





After his bath, Finn decided he wanted to name his robots. This one he's pointing to is called "Teeny Weeny."

Naked boys, Fathers' Day & puppet shows

Well, not really naked, but Finn says he's "naked" when he has his shirt off.

Happy Fathers' Day to all the Dads out there! For the occasion, below are a couple of shots of Mickey playing with the boys. Finn likes to "climb the mountain" lately, which just means he climbs over our legs via stepping on our stomachs. His "little" feet feel like pins and needles.

Finn is into puppet shows. He likes to be the audience and the put on the performance, as evidenced below.

Congratulations Aunt Krimbly!

Aunt Kimberly (Krimbly, as Finn says) got her Masters from Harvard this weekend! We couldn't be there, but celebrated by having the boys wear their Harvard shirts while outside in our yard this afternoon. Congratulations Krimbly - we're proud of you!

Burritos and big slides

This evening we had burritos from Burrito Union and played at the new park at Chester. There is new playground equipment, but Finn went straight for the old, huge slide. For those of you who also follow the adventures of Tenzy and Rilo, this story is very familiar.

Perfect Duluth Day

The weather was just awesome today, hence the title.

In the spirit of comparing and contrasting our babies Pearson, here are two shots of our boys in the same outfit and same bouncy seat, although Finn is eight months in his picture and Leif is seven months in his.

In other news, Finn got a haircut recently, which makes him look like a totally older version of himself. We started perusing college applications in anticipation of the coming year. He looks THAT old.






My cousin Danny from Salt Lake City came out to Duluth today, en route to the Boundary Waters (lucky devil.) We had fun showing him around Duluth and throwing rocks into Lake Superior.

Finn is a pretty funny little guy these days. Not only is his rapidly growing vocabulary a constant source of entertainment, but his autonomy and "helpfulness" is often pretty great.

Case in point: This morning, while I was sleeping, Keely said said to the boys, "I'm going to go let Gracie back inside." She got Leif into his bouncy seat, turned around, and noticed Finn was gone. She went to the back door to find Gracie on her way inside and Finn right behind her. In an effort to "help," he had run to the back door, opened it and left the house, opened the gate for Gracie and come back inside. Guess we'll be locking all the doors from now on.

In other news, the family of bears we saw last summer made their way back through our neighborhood today. Sadly, the camera was not on hand, but I'm sure they'll be back once the raspberries in the local gardens start bearing fruit.

But still prefers his tummy.

Dream big. As in, "maybe I can drive the excavator" big.

Our neighbors recently began work on a garage, so you can imagine Finn's excitement the day the digger came to work on the foundation. We spent most of the day either at the window, staring out at the digger, or in the wagon on walks bound for the digger.
