Our baby's a growin!

It never ceases to amaze us how quickly Finn is growing. For those of you who need a better illustration of this fact, please consider the following pictures:

Exhibit A: Finn, just a scant 48 hours after being born, ready to go home for the first time.

Exhibit B: Finn in his carseat just last week flaunting his enormo-legs. Posted by Picasa

A view from the floor

WHAT?! Mickey updated the blog?

Sorry about the delay, folks. Other than my brief trip to the boundary waters, I don't really have an excuse other than: I am now a stay-at-home dad, preoccupied with my new domestic duties. (That is only half BS.) All has been going smoothly this first week of Mr. Mom-ing it. No major breakdowns on either of our parts, and Keely gets to see him during her lunch break so both she and Finn can eat.

Here's a cute shot of Finn in the midst of tummy-time, admittedly one of his least favorite activities.

Eco-baby

Look at our happy little hippie baby, hugging his stuffed tree. (Thanks, Amanda Young, for the awesome, handmade, one-of-a-kind stuffed tree.)

Keely and I really want Finn to have a clean, beautiful Earth to grow up in. On that note, you should go see An Inconvenient Truth, the new global warming documentary. It's really great and motivating.

Watch out, Mardi Gras '07!

A quickie for you all

Here's another, more serious expression from our boy Finn. (Obviously culled from the announcement photo shoot.)

I promise: the next post will a) come soon and b) be a more recent photo.

Classic Finn

For the photo update, here's an oldie (but goodie) from the growing Finn archives. It's pretty amazing how much he's grown in only 8 weeks.

To satisfy your craving...

A quick post of some pics for all you blog-junkies.
Isn't Finn cute?

I'm getting darn near prolific

Look at that cute smile! That kid loves his playmat!

Also, Finn has had lots of visitors in the past 5 weeks, so here's a small montage (You can do it in a montage!) of some collected pics of our friends holding the young child.

All smiles (for now...)

Because so many people are calling me out for not updating often enough, here's the second post in as many days! Enjoy the cute smiles!

What a Great Grandma!

Finn got to meet his great-grandma Norma (Keely's grandma) last weekend in Grand Rapids. Not only was it Mothers' Day, but it was also her 80th birthday! What a treat! Finn, of course, had a blast.

In other news, Finn is starting to bat at toys that hang above him, as in the photo below. It's pretty cool to watch him coordinate movement with what he sees, even if it's a bit sporadic and erratic.

The four generations of Pearsons

Well, the trip was not without snags (an auto breakdown on the way down) but we made it to Okoboji and had a great time!

Here's a photo of the four generations of Pearsons. Great-grandpa Bud was very excited to meet and hold Finn, as is clear from the picture.

We're hitting the road!

Hey all,

Finn's ready for his first big trip! We've been breaking in the new stroller/carseat combo (see below) and he's loved it (read: slept through each walk) so we're going big time! Tomorrow, we leave for Okoboji!

Given Finn's fondness for his carseat and car rides, albeit at 3am, we're sure he'll do well on the 3-ish hour ride. Most importantly, he'll finally get to meet Great-grandpa Pearson, which should be a ball.

Here's a pic of Finn, all geared up for a recent walk and sporting his Zoolander-esque "Blue Steel" look.

A couple quick, cute ones

Hey there,

Finn had his first pediatrician visit on Monday and is now up to a hefty 8 lbs, 5 oz. My little fattie can now ride in his Baby Bjorn!

I keep getting requests for daily posts of pictures, so I think I'll start pacing myself rather than upload a ton at once.

Today's submissions: a couple cute shots of one of Finn's favorite facial expressions.

By popular demand...

Does anyone remember what uninterrupted sleep is like? We sure don't. Yet despite the wavering-throat, soul-shatterring 3am shrieks, I can't help but stare at him in adoration and say, "You are an awesome being and I love you."

Here's some sweet face-shots of our cute son. I was camera-happy with a very animated Finn in my arms yesterday. Enjoy!

ps to interested parties - If you ever want higher-resolution copies of any photos for desktops/printing, let me know and I'll e-mail you a copy.

Please welcome Finn Gerald Pearson!

At 10:59 am on Thursday, April 13th, Finn Gerald Pearson joined the world. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 7 oz, and was 20" long. He is likely the most beautiful thing you will ever see.

The labor was long and hard (~40 hours) but Keely did a fantastic job with the whole process, especially considering the almost complete lack of sleep for roughly three days.

The due month is here!

It's April 2nd and still, no baby. We're waiting patiently for our new arrival.

Here's to hoping it comes soon. Keely is full of baby and ready to be done being pregnant.

No news is good news.

Which is not to say that all news is bad news...

All things on the baby front are progressing nicely. We're hoping for an early April delivery date rather than the projected April 15th. However, we don't get much of a choice in the matter.

Stay tuned!
