Back to the Beach

For those of you who missed our photos of Finn on the beach, here's a post especially for you. We took advantage of the nicer weather this weekend and made our first trek to Park Point for the year. Finn was super-excited to play in the sand, and as soon as we got there he took off down the shore. Gracie was also pretty happy to get some much-needed exercise. She may be feeling the cabin fever the most in our family.

Finn is REALLY into his "Cars and Trucks" floor puzzle these days, and his language development is pretty cool. You can hear him using all kinds of cool verbs and phrases, like "grabbing," "reaching," "whole pile," and "right here."

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! We tried to have Finn hunt for eggs, but he was not interested at all. Maybe next year. He really liked talking about eggs and the Easter Bunny, but I guess he found the build-up more exciting than the activity. Below are some photos from the weekend.

Found Footage - Finn early '08

I cleared off the video camera the other day and found a lot of funny footage of Finn from the last few months. Here he is, performing a variety of tricks. The first clip is pretty straight-forward. James and Kelly got him a Star Wars coloring book and he can now name Chewbacca, Luke, and Yoda.

The second clip has him naming some colors. He's smart that way.

The final clip is a "hidden camera" capture of him "reading" to his stuffed animals. It's darn cute.

It's Saint Urho's Day! Long ago, the mighty Saint Urho drove the grasshoppers out of Finland and saved the vineyards! Here's a post to celebrate!



(Yes, Finn does have a black eye - a result of an unfortunate run-in with our coffee table.)







Here's a fun re-created photo. The boys are exactly the same age, using the same towel, and laying on the same table. Can you tell which photo is Finn and which is Leif? I'll give you a hint - Leif is about 5 lbs heavier than his brother was at this age.

So, I know I posted a zillion of naked Leif on his tummy, but I couldn't decide what one to put on. And honestly, have you ever seen a baby this cute (since Finn was this age, of course)?

Boys Bonding

Here are two photos of the boys bonding. Sorry they're not looking at the camera. It's nearly impossible to get them to look at the same time.

Finn is into "reading" books to his stuffed animals. It is very endearing, as you can see in the photos below. Also, when we eat he puts them in chairs at the table, puts bib on them, and wipes their faces with a washcloth at the end of the meal. He puts them to bed every night - under a blanket on our bed - after brushing their teeth, of course.

Leif is into sitting in his bumbo, eating his fist, and just generally being the cutest baby around. He has rolled over in both directions. For those of you keeping score, Leif reached this milestone about 2 weeks earlier than his big brother.

Phebruary Photos

Hey all,

Finn is continuing his disenchantment with the camera. Ask him to smile and you'll often get either ignored or a gaping mouth, akin to a yawn. He's a precocious toddler; what can you expect?

Here's a shot of Finn with two new things: new pajamas and a new haircut. He loved getting his haircut this time, and will relate to you the story of the dog at the salon. Ask him about Janet and you'll get regaled with a great tale of a rubbed tummy.
