Roar by the Shore

Sometimes it's hard to express how awesome Duluth is. Then we get some special visitors to help out.

Last week, three black bears walked right through our alley and backyard. The mama and two cubs were totally mellow and just checking out their surroundings. Keely spotted them first through the living room window. Finn, upon seeing them, said, "ROAR!" (He's darn smart.)

Here's the photos:

Finn update

Finn has been having lots of fun this summer. He really, really enjoys bike rides lately. He will walk out to the garage, try to put the bike helmet on his head, and climb into the trailer.

We have him sit on his potty every night, and he has used it a couple of times.

He enjoys smelling flowers (which is hard to capture on film, but very cute, trust us).

He is making the transition from two naps to one nap a day, which makes for "tired Finn" some days.

Yesterday was the Dragonboat Festival in Superior (annual fundraiser). Barr (Keely's employer) had a team that Mickey raced on. Finn was there to support the team, act like a clown (see picture 1) and stare down anyone who got in his way (see picture 2).

Let's see how the pros do it

We recently had a professional photographer take some shots of Finn and the proofs are ready to be viewed. For those who are interested, go to www.magicboxphotography.com and click on "Online Proofing." Choose the Pearson proofs and enter "finn" (no quotes) as your password.

Here's a sample of the results:

100 Posts & a Milestone Reached!

Yes, it's true. This is the 100th post on the Babies Pearson blog. Crazy, I know.

It's almost as though Finn anticipated the implied importance of this post, and as such, chose today for his first successful attempt at peeing in his potty. We were surprised and ecstatic parents to be sure.

Here's a photo for you.

Gma & Gpa Pearson visit Duluth!

The grandparents Pearson came up to Duluth for a visit to Finn's new home. Here's some shots of the adventures we went on.

Here's Finn showing them how to walk along the lakewalk and not look like tourists.

On Wednesday afternoon, we took a ride on the North Shore Scenic Railroad up and down the shore.

Finn played at the toy train tables while waiting for the train,

and played with grandma in the traincar,

and then by the engine after the ride. What a fun time!

Even more photos!

Here's Finn & Gracie getting ready for a walk. Finn loves to hug Gracie these days, and she tolerates it.

Here's Finn playing in his water-table and swimming pool, enjoying the warm weather.

A Deluge of Duluth Photos!

As promised, here's a bunch of photos from our first few days in Duluth.

These first few are of the neighborhood 4th of July parade, which was PACKED, as is evidenced by all the bikes and people in the background. We met a lot of neighbors and such, but many conversations were halted by Finn's desire to get out and run around.

Later that day, we took a hike in Hartley Park, a HUGE nature reserve right by our house. Here's Keely and Finn enjoying the trail.

Sorry for the delay

Hey Everyone!

It is true that we are no longer on the road (see comments from last post), but we do not have "full" internet access yet. We have a ton of cute pictures of Finn and the house waiting on the camera. The past owners of the house have not disconnected the internet yet, so we can't get the photos online until we a) get our own internet or b) find the flash drive so we can transfer photos from the "big" computer to the laptop.

Things are going really well. Finn loves the new house. He has a lot more to explore and has a playroom dedicated to his toys and books, which he loves. Gracie also loves the neighborhood because we are so close to hiking trails. Baby #2 is doing well....moving around a lot.

We'll post soon, we promise. We want everyone to see our new house!

In the meantime, enjoy these photos of Finn growing up. I know they're old, but they're still dang cute.

On the road

Sorry for the complete drought in updates to the blog. For those not in-the-know, we're on the road, currently in Lansing, Michigan. Keely has a work conference here, so the road trip was a good option for us during our period of homelessness. We move to Duluth on the 25th, so we're really psyched to get going in our old stomping grounds.

In Baby #2 news: The 20-week ultrasound was a week ago and all is well. The gender is still a mystery and will remain so until the 25th of October. When we get back to normal, we'll upload the ultrasound pics and you can make your predictions.

Finn and friends/family

The last month or so Finn has seen a lot of people. He loves hangin' with others and it's fun to see him interact with other people.

The Pearsons: A two-car family

Turns out the Subaru just wasn't enough for our growing family, so we're finally making use of our two-car garage. Finn couldn't be happier.

Grandma's Birthday Weekend

Team Pearson went down to Okoboji a couple of weekends ago to visit the grand/great-grandparents.

Finn had lots of fun swimming at the YMCA and celebrating Grandma Teresa's birthday.
